What Is New for 2027
A Stronger TurboMax Engine
The 2.7L TurboMax now makes 350 horsepower and about 450 lb.-ft. of torque, up 40 horsepower and 20 lb.-ft. from the 2026 truck. GM credits a new turbocharger, a revised fuel injection system, better thermal management, and reworked pistons, and says the engine also improves drivability and smoothness. The 8-speed automatic carries over. Towing and payload ratings stay the same as 2026.
5G Wi-Fi and a Home Remote
The onboard Wi-Fi hotspot moves up to 5G from 4G LTE, so phones, tablets, and laptops stay connected on the road or at the campsite (where coverage allows). A Universal Home Remote, which opens your garage door from the truck, is available.
Three New Colors
Serpent Metallic, Storm Gray Metallic, and Nitron Blue join the lineup, replacing Snowdrift Metallic, Reef Blue Metallic, and Sunrise Orange. White Sands, Summit White, Black, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Sterling Gray Metallic carry over. (Some new colors cannot be paired with certain ZR2 and Z71 interiors, so ask us to confirm your combination.)
More Comfort and Convenience
A power-adjustable front passenger seat is now an option. Convenience Package III is now available on the Z71 and ZR2, which were left out before. New wheel designs include 17-inch wheels for the LT and 18-inch Gloss Black machined-face wheels, and the ZR2 gains a Jet Black with Artemis cloth interior.
What Stays the Same
Everything that makes the Colorado a Colorado carries over. It is still a five-seat crew cab with a short bed, and the redesigned third-generation look from 2023 is unchanged. The trim ladder is unchanged (WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2), with 4WD standard on the off-road trims. Maximum towing holds at up to 7,700 pounds (the ZR2 is rated at 6,000, and the ZR2 Bison at 5,500). Payload, GVWR, fuel tank size (21.4 gallons), and the ZR2’s 10.73 inches of ground clearance all stay the same.
