2027 Honda Odyssey: What’s New, What’s Staying, and What It Costs
The 2027 Honda Odyssey is a carryover, and for a family shopping for a minivan that is good news (a proven van with no first-year surprises). Honda restyled the Odyssey for 2025, and the 2027 model keeps that look, the 3.5L V6, the 10-speed automatic, and the same four trims. The changes are small and specific: every trim costs $400 more in MSRP, the destination charge rose $100 to $1,595, and the EX-L and Sport-L now use HondaTex synthetic leather instead of leather-trimmed seats. This guide covers what is new, what stays, how the four trims compare, and whether a 2026 or a 2027 is the better buy. Kunes Auto Group in Delavan, Wisconsin has Odysseys ready to drive.

What Is New on the 2027 Odyssey
Honda’s 2027 changes are on the price sheet and in the seats; nothing under the hood or on the safety list moved.
Higher Prices and a Higher Destination Charge
Every 2027 Odyssey trim starts $400 above its 2026 equivalent, and the destination charge rises from $1,495 to $1,595, so the real increase at delivery is $500 per trim. The EX-L now starts at $43,195 MSRP (or $44,790 with destination).
HondaTex Seats on the EX-L and Sport-L
The EX-L and Sport-L move from leather-trimmed seats to HondaTex, a synthetic leather that wipes clean after juice boxes, soccer cleats, and the occasional dropped french fry (which, in a minivan, is a question of when). The Touring and Elite keep leather-trimmed seating.
What Changed Since the 2024 and Earlier Odyssey
Most of what feels new on today’s Odyssey arrived with the 2025 restyle, and the 2027 carries it forward. The front end is more upright, the infotainment was updated, the rear-seat entertainment system improved, and the trim ladder now starts at the EX-L (the EX was dropped). If you are stepping out of a 2018 to 2024 Odyssey, those are the differences you will notice first.
What Stays the Same
Under the hood, every 2027 Odyssey keeps its 3.5L V6 (280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque), a 10-speed automatic, and front-wheel drive. EPA ratings hold at 19 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined on every trim. The power sliding doors, the three rows of adult-sized seating, and the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance features all carry over, along with the Magic Slide second row on the eight-passenger trims.
2027 Odyssey Pricing and Fuel Economy
Honda’s published starting prices are below (MSRP excludes the $1,595 destination charge, taxes, registration, options, and premium paint; the third column adds destination):

| Sport-L | $44,295 | $45,890 | 8 |

2027 Odyssey Trims: EX-L vs. Sport-L vs. Touring vs. Elite
Odyssey EX-L
The EX-L is the value pick, and it is far from stripped. It brings HondaTex seats, power sliding doors, a Magic Slide second row, the 3.5L V6, and the full Honda Sensing suite for $43,195 MSRP. If you want the space and the doors without paying for screens the kids may ignore by next year, start here.
Odyssey Sport-L
The Sport-L ($44,295) layers a sportier look on top of EX-L equipment, with darker exterior accents, red interior ambient lighting, and extra USB-C charging ports for the third row. It suits a family that wants the EX-L feature set with a little more attitude.
Odyssey Touring
The Touring ($47,895) is the family road-trip trim. It adds a rear-seat entertainment system, Cabin Watch (a camera view of the back rows, so you can check on the kids without turning around), navigation, front and rear parking sensors, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 115-volt outlet. It still seats eight, which makes it the highest trim with a full set of eight seatbelts.
Odyssey Elite
The Elite ($52,095) is the fully loaded van: Touring equipment plus ventilated front seats, heated second-row captain’s chairs, and a premium audio system. The captain’s chairs make the third row easier to reach, and they bring seating to seven rather than eight.
2027 Odyssey vs. the Competition
The Odyssey’s closest rivals are the Toyota Sienna and the Chrysler Pacifica, and each gives up something to win something else. The Sienna is hybrid-only and offers available all-wheel drive, which the Odyssey does not; the Odyssey answers with a 280-horsepower V6 and the Magic Slide second row. The Pacifica offers Stow ’n Go seating and a plug-in hybrid option (see our 2027 Chrysler Pacifica guide). If you need all-wheel drive in a Honda, the Pilot is the three-row SUV to look at instead.
Should You Buy a 2026 or 2027 Odyssey?
The two model years are the same van. Both use the 280-horsepower V6, the 10-speed automatic, the same four trims, and the same EPA ratings; the 2027 costs $500 more at delivery (counting the higher destination charge) and swaps leather-trimmed seats for HondaTex on the EX-L and Sport-L. If a 2026 Odyssey in the trim and color you want is still on the lot, it is often the better deal, since incentives tend to favor outgoing model-year stock. Choose the 2027 if the configuration you want is gone, or if you lease and want the newer model year. Ask Kunes Auto Group what is available today.
Is a Redesigned Odyssey Coming Soon?
Not any time soon. Honda is widely reported to have pushed its next-generation Odyssey (along with the Accord and HR-V) out to 2030 or later, and Honda has announced no hybrid or electric Odyssey. That means there is no changeover to wait out and no first-year redesign premium to dodge; buy on your own timeline, not Honda’s.
