The 2027 Subaru Forester Wilderness Hybrid
Trail-ready capability meets hybrid efficiency, now at Kunes Auto Group in Delavan, Wisconsin.
The 2027 Subaru Forester Wilderness Hybrid is a genuine first: Subaru's rugged, trail-focused Wilderness treatment paired with a hybrid powertrain. This new variant brings real off-road hardware and everyday efficiency together in one Forester, built for drivers who want to go farther off the pavement without giving up fuel economy. Here is what is new, how it is priced, and what carries over as you shop at Kunes Auto Group in Delavan, Wisconsin.
What's New: A Wilderness That's Also a Hybrid
The Wilderness Hybrid is the headline. For the first time, Subaru combines its Wilderness off-road package with a hybrid powertrain, so you get 9.3 inches of ground clearance, X-MODE Dual-Mode all-wheel drive, and 17-inch matte-black wheels wrapped in Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires, along with the efficiency of a hybrid. Power comes from a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle BOXER engine working with electric motors and a lithium-ion battery for 194 combined horsepower, giving the trail-ready Forester more muscle than the 180-horsepower gas Wilderness.
Pricing and Lineup
Subaru expands the hybrid lineup and keeps pricing approachable. The new Forester Wilderness Hybrid starts at $40,495 MSRP, just above the gas Wilderness at $39,495 (before a $1,475 destination charge). It joins a broader Forester hybrid range that spans the Premium Hybrid (from $34,730) up to the Touring Hybrid (around $41,545), and Subaru has shifted several popular trims toward hybrid power for 2027.
