We're proud to share that 11 of our 54 auto dealerships have been named to Automotive News' 2026 Best Dealerships To Work For list, one of the retail automotive industry's most competitive workplace honors. The list is compiled by Automotive News in partnership with Workforce Research Group, which considered more than 18,000 dealerships nationwide before narrowing the field to the top 150.
Why this recognition carries weight
Unlike honors built on customer reviews or sales numbers, this one is built entirely on what employees say about their own workplace. Workforce Research Group's two-part evaluation combines a confidential employee survey with a review of each dealership's workplace policies and practices, so the results reflect what it's actually like to work at a Kunes store, not what we say about ourselves.

A family business that still feels like the neighborhood dealer
Founded in 1997 in Delavan, Wisconsin, we've grown from a single store to more than 50 auto and RV locations across Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota today, more than doubling our footprint since 2020. We now employ more than 2,000 team members. Growth hasn't changed our model: every Kunes store is staffed by people who live in the community it serves, sponsoring local sports teams, schools, and community events store by store. We also donate 10% of our annual net profits to local charities and other ministries, a practice built into our founding values of Faith, Family, and Giving Back since day one. Several Kunes stores have earned Best Dealerships recognition in past years: a total of 63 awards have been given to more than 20 locations, and having 11 stores named to this year's list is the most we've ever received in a single year.
