Kunes Toyota of Galesburg to Host First Responders Day

At Kunes Toyota of Galesburg, we believe that our community is strongest when we come together to support one another — and few people represent that spirit better than our first responders. These everyday heroes work tirelessly behind the scenes and on the front lines to keep us safe, healthy, and protected, often in the most challenging circumstances.

To show our gratitude and give the community a chance to connect with those who serve, we’re proud to host First Responders Day on Friday, April 12, right here at Kunes Toyota of Galesburg.

This event is more than just a display of emergency vehicles — it’s a celebration of courage, service, and community. We’re inviting families, schools, and residents of all ages to come out and spend the day meeting local heroes, learning about what they do, and seeing their incredible tools and techniques in action.

• City and State Police – Meet local officers and explore their patrol vehicles.
• K9 Unit Demonstration – Watch a live demonstration showcasing the skills of trained police dogs and their handlers.
• Air Evac Helicopter – See the helicopter up close and learn about how air medical services provide rapid response in emergencies.
• Firetruck Display – Get a firsthand look at a real fire engine and talk to the firefighters who operate it.
• EMT and Paramedic Teams – Learn about emergency medical response and tour an ambulance.
• 911 Dispatch Team – Gain insight into how dispatchers coordinate emergency services and support callers in crisis.
• CPR Demonstration – Observe a live CPR demo and learn basic lifesaving techniques from certified professionals.

First Responders Day isn’t just about showcasing emergency services — it’s about building relationships and strengthening community bonds. It’s a chance for kids to be inspired, for adults to gain knowledge, and for all of us to express our thanks to the men and women who dedicate their lives to our safety and well-being.
