Kunes CDJR of Platteville

Platteville, Wisconsin is well known for its mining history and for being the home of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The deep mining history in the area dates back over 150 years when miners found lead and zinc-rich areas located in what is present-day downtown Platteville. The community is proud of the pioneer-miner heritage and this is celebrated by the UW Platteville mascot being Pioneer man and by The Mining and Rollo Jamison Museum. The museum includes tours of 100+-year-old mining shafts, a ride on a 1931 mine train, and a multitude of mining memorabilia.
