In this Car Convo, I reflect on buying my first car and the ups and downs that come with it.

For many people who are buying their first car. The idea may be daunting and scary.

Kunes however, is lifting the hood and giving you all the details from people who know best. Take a look back on my journey!

Going into buying my first car, going from a sedan and driving various sizes of cars, I knew what a wanted and what I needed. I was able to get about 95% of my needs and 75% of my wants. (Always be willing to compromise, almost never do you get your perfect car on the go around.)

I will be honest, even with all the preparation my process was crazy, but I will try and keep it as simple as possible.

While browsing on ShopKunes for website content, I stumbled across another Jeep Compass that I was really interested in. However, it was a little farther than I could travel on my lunch break in Delavan. I then procceeded to call up a closer store and test drove one of the same models they had on their lot, deciding that if I like the drive I would go down and look at the original unit over the weekend. I meant my mom for lunch and she gave me her second opinion on it. As I drove back I decided, a Jeep Compass was the car for me, but which one would I pick?

Once I returned the keys and made my way back to my desk, I found out the original unit I had wanted, sold. I decided to chalk it up to a half-win because I knew what I wanted. I just had to wait for the right one. Later that night I couldn't stop thinking about the car I had drove, I woke up deciding that Dory was coming home with me.

The following day, I called my bank to get approval for a loan and started submitting the paperwork for a car with the dealership, I wasn't letting this one slip away. Once my loan was approved and the paperwork was filed, I went that Saturday and pick up my car and drove it home. It was such an amazing experience driving it off the lot and my sisters fighting over who gets to ride shot gun.

I got Dory in May and she has gotten a lot of love since then, in my daily commute and fun road trips. She's got lots of miles left to go this year.

Since I have put on so many miles I have redeemed my first free oil change, which is included with any purchase from Kunes

The biggest advice I recieved is the same advice I would give is; go into your buying proccess with an open mind and don't hesistant to talk to other people.
